Introducing: The Kanu Wines 5km Trail Run…
Kanu Wines in Stellenbosch have undergone somewhat of a revolution over the last year and a half. Since temporarily closing to the public, they have worked tirelessly to revamp the facilities on offer and at the end of August, the public will once again be able to visit the farm and see what they’ve been up to.
As part of their re-launch, they are hosting a 5km Trail Run on the farm that promises to be very exciting, giving you access to view the new facilities first-hand before anyone else.
I spent this weekend on the farm and put my tekkies on to run the route that they’re preparing for the event – it promises to be a fun one, with amazing scenery of the Stellenbosch mountains, the dam on the farm and the wooded areas that the public rarely gets access to.
Not the easiest of runs, it contains a couple of challenging hills but offers relief with plenty of downhills and flatter sections as well.
I had a great time testing the route and highly recommend experienced and casual runners to partake!
There will be fine wine, good food and snacks, live music and awesome scenery on offer – what more do we as runners need as we prepare for the start of Spring?
