Super Rugby Team of the Week 12

I for one, am happy the Stormers didn’t lose this weekend! Still not entirely happy with the 2/4 wins for the SA franchises. We should call the disease in SA rugby: SPDW – Same Problem, Different Weekend. It’s becoming more obvious every weekend but some coaches just won’t/refuse to change things.

Blues vs Cheetahs:

Can the union not get a proper defense coach in?! How difficult will that be? Probably the only aspect of the Cheethas game that is missing. The tackle completion rate is up the last two weekends, but still not acceptable. Rhule was yet again the worst at defending, only making 2 out of the 8 attempts.

Brumbies vs Lions:

The best placed Aussie team (Brumbies) have less points on the log than the worst placed Kiwi team. The Kings have won more games this season than the Brumbies. But SA need to loose two teams? Heibo, Mnr.

The Lions camp looks like a happy camp at the moment. They have a good rotation policy happening at the moment with their front row. Mostert playing the best rugby of his life. I’ll pick him ahead of PSDT. After THAT try, thoughts on Kwagga moving to wing?

Bulls vs Highlanders:

RG Snyman. Can you please run us through what was going through your head at the time?? Brain fart of note. That would’ve been a couple of dirty fines after the game. The Bulls are their own worst enemy at times. It’s surprising how much better the Bulls look when Paige comes on the field. Don’t know why they aren’t starting him.

Let’s give credit where its due, that Malakai Fekitoa try was a beaut!

Southern Kings vs Sharks:

I picked the Kings by 3 on Superbru. Oh yeah. Hahahaha!

What a game played by the Kings! Take your hat off Cronje, Scheuder and Ntsila. They were superb on the day. We were expecting Lambie to get injured right? What an unfortunate run of injuries for the man.

Old Hammies boy, Bock, was brilliant with ball in hand. Not bad for a 34 year old, hey!

Lukhanyo Am showing why he needs to be the Bok 13 against France.

Enough talk, here’s the Super Rugby Team of the Week, as selected by our esteemed panel of armchair pundits.
