Super Rugby Team of the Week 10

3/5 wins for the South African conference this weekend, not bad hey?

How good are the Kings’ rugby at the moment? Some really good rugga’s being played by them. That being said, it was an Australian team so we mustn’t read too much into that, right?

Highlanders vs Stormers

Stormers? Province? Its really PPPRROOOOBBBLLLEEEMMMSSSS!

I don’t really want to talk about it, it still hurts. It was a game that really proved that there is no ‘rugby intelligence’  in South African Rugby.

We only know the game plan that was practiced and can’t adopt to what’s on the field.

Western Force vs Lions

Its sad to think the Force put up a better fight than the Stormers. The Lions really had to work for this win. But hey managed to keep a calm head right to the end. Huge game from Franco Mosert. The span gees in the team looks really good.

Can they make it to the final again this year?

Cheetahs vs Crusaders

Again, the Cheetahs defense let them down. Only able to complete 58/101 tackles, that’s 57%. When will Franco Smith get a defense guru in for the team? It’s clear as daylight what the problem is but it looks like nothing will come from it.

Sergeal Petersen caught the eye on attack making 90m but had a very poor defensive record, only making 1/6 tackles.

Oupa and Cassiem looked like the only two that wanted to defend.

Southern Kings vs Rebels

The Rebels had the Possession and Territory stat for the game. The Kings absorbed that pressure by making double the amount of tackles. Mapimpi caught the eye again in this match, making a full 146m on attack.

The Kings actually had 3 players in total that made more than 100m on attack: Masixole Banda (123m) and Anidisa Ntsila (118m) were the other two.

Jaguares vs Sharks

The question is will Curwin Bosch feature for the u/20’s this year or will he make his senior Bok debut against France? I really hope he plays u/20 this year.

Next question: Will Odwa Ndungane ever retire? The Jaguares didn’t make it an easy job for the Sharks and Ruan Botha and Phillip van der Walt really put in the grunt work for the Sharks.

Anyway, that’s all I really have to say this week, so let’s get into the Super Rugby Team of the Week, for week 10.
